Women’s Soccer Draws at Heidelberg

TIFFIN, Ohio – Playing on the road on a rough field, the Capital University women's soccer team settled for a scoreless draw at Heidelberg University on Wednesday afternoon. The Comets, now 3-6-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the OAC, had the lion's share of opportunities, but the uneven and dry field led to difficulties in finding the decisive touch in the match.

During the game, the Comets slung 18 shots toward the Berg (7-1-3, 0-0-2) goal with 10 of them finding their target. Leading the charge in offensive chances was Avery Hart who took five shots with three of them finding the frame. Others to shoot on target included Ryanne Michel, Taylor Marcum, Bella Leonetti, Catherine Zugaro, Grace Estes, Rachel Austin, and Francesca Longano

Defensively, the unit consisting of Abby English, Taylor Marcum, Bella Leonetti, and Ryanne Michel held Heidelberg to just six shot opportunities, while Liv Alford made four saves in the Comet goal.

Brigid Enright had 10 saves for the Student Princes to keep yet another clean sheet this season.
