Women’s Soccer Beats BW for First Time in Last Four Meetings

BEREA, Ohio – The Capital University women's soccer team (3-6-1, 1-0-0 OAC) finally ended their winless streak against OAC foe Baldwin Wallace (5-7-0, 0-1-0 OAC) on Saturday after three straight draws with the Yellow Jackets previously. The Comets also secured their first win of the conference season, beating BW 2-1. Grace Estes (4) and Nicole Ogden (1) scored for CU.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Baldwin Wallace would get on the board first, breaking the scoreless tie in the 35th minute after being awarded a penalty kick. BW's Mia Fourtounis' kick was saved by Capital's Liv Alford but unfortunately the rebound found its way into the net by way of Ella Barth with an assist from Ella James.

It wasn't until the second half when CU evened the score courtesy of Grace Estes in the 47th minute. The Purple and White would deal the deciding blow about 15 minutes later in the 62nd, with Nicole Ogden getting her first of the year via an assist from Taylor Marcum. The Comets would take their lead all the way to the end for a 2-1 win.
