COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's soccer team (4-4-1) faced a tough test on Sunday afternoon, squaring off with No. 7 ranked Case Western Reserve (8-0-1). It was a brutal back-and-forth game and very physical on both sides of the ball. In the end, CWRU would win 2-0 after scoring via penalty kick in the 26th minute and adding another goal in the 71st minute.
Despite a slow start offensively, the Comets were able to make some halftime adjustments which really opened up the attack in the second half. In total, Cap was able to crack off seven shots, three of which were on target and saved.
Catherine Zugaro (2 SH, 1 SOG),
Grace Estes (2 SH, 1 SOG),
Ryanne Michel (1 SH, 1 SOG),
Lexi Snider (1 SH), and
Tori Kittrell (1 SH) accounted for the attempts.
Liv Alford (3-3-1) played the full 90 in goal for Capital. She tied her career high with nine saves.
