MARIETTA, Ohio – Battling inclement weather for yet another gameday this season, the Capital University men's lacrosse team stayed the course and dominated their way to an 18-6 victory on the road at Marietta College.
The win marks Capital's ninth straight and improves their overall record to 9-2 (4-0 OAC). Marietta drops back to 5-5 and 3-1 in the conference.
Tonight's margin of victory (12 goals) was the second highest of the season, sliding behind the team's 15-goal win over LaGrange earlier this year. The six goals allowed also matched a season-low for goals conceded, a feat that was matched last week in the 11-6 win over Muskingum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Comets jumped all over the Pioneers early and often, building a 6-0 lead at the end of the first period. With a sizeable lead, Capital was forced to delay the inevitable as weather halted the game for an extended period of time.
However, once the all-clear signal was given, the Comets picked up right where they left off, scoring six more goals in the second quarter and carrying a 12-2 lead to the halftime break.
In the third, both teams were held to just one goal each, but that didn't deter the Comets who came back with five more goals in the fourth to put the finishing touches on yet another comfortable win this season.
