CHARDON, Ohio – The Capital University men's golf team competed in their final event before the OAC Championships on Monday, battling a windy and rainy/snowy day to finish both the 'A' and 'B' squad in the top-three team places.
The 'A' team composed of
Angelo Donato,
Adam Murphy,
Ben Satterthwaite,
Vince Daher, and
Colin Frimel finished second overall with a score of 310.
The 'B' team made up of
Jack Curtis,
Adam Czerniakowski,
Ricky Walsh,
Shane Murphy and
Aidan Isaac put together a score of 315 to finish third overall.
Leading the way were three Comets coming in at 77 over the 18-hole course –
Angelo Donato,
Adam Murphy, and
Jack Curtis. Those three tied for fourth place individually.
Another trio of Capital golfers placed in a tie for ninth individually as
Ben Satterthwaite,
Vince Daher, and
Adam Czerniakowski shot a round of 78.
Next for Capital were
Ricky Walsh and
Shane Murphy who shot matching scores of 80 to place in a tie for 19th.
Rounding it out were
Colin Frimel and
Aidan Isaac who tied for 32nd with a score of 84 each.
Otterbein won the event with a team score of 306, led by co-medalists Ian Johnston and Carter Woodward who scored a 74.
The Comets now will prepare for the OAC Championships to be held in 11 days. Capital will commence the event on Friday, April 28th before playing the final round on Sunday, April 30th at River Greens Golf Club in West Lafayette, Ohio.
