BEREA, Ohio – The Capital University men's lacrosse team made their way north on Saturday to the campus of Baldwin Wallace University for a matchup with the OAC-leading Yellow Jackets. The game would have big playoff implications as the two squads were separated by just two games heading into the day, the Comets also in a battle with John Carroll and Ohio Northern for the second seed. A tough defensive battle led to a very low scoring game that unfortunately did not fall in Capital's favor, BW winning 8-3.
Capital drops to 9-4 overall, 4-2 in the OAC, and fourth on the conference table.
Baldwin Wallace remains as number one at 13-2 overall and 7-0 in conference play.
Things were relatively even in the early going with both teams getting on the board in the first quarter, Baldwin Wallace leading 2-1 after the first 15 minutes.
Mason Spaulding was the goal-scorer for the Comets. A scoreless second quarter for Capital allowed BW to increase their advantage by one and head into the half up 3-1.

Jack Kilgallon and
Charlie Howenstine scored back-to-back goals to bring it to a one goal game. The Yellow Jackets put in another before the quarter's end, 5-3. Another scoreless quarter would keep the Comets from getting any closer, BW winding up with three goals to bring the game to a 8-3 final.
