Men’s Lacrosse Bounces Back BIG Against Heidelberg

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University was back at Bernlohr Stadium on Wednesday, kicking off their final full week of regular season action. The opponent of the night was Heidelberg whom the Comets handled very well, tying their program record for goals in a game with a 28-2 win. Capital moves to 10-4 (5-2 OAC) on the season, Heidelberg drops to 3-10 (0-7 OAC).

It was a smorgasbord of scoring for the Comets as they put eight in in both the first and second quarters while allowing only one to take a 16-1 halftime lead. It was more of the same in the second half as Capital added seven in the third quarter and finished off with five in the fourth, again allowing only one from the other side. Thus the game ended with a 28-2 scoreline.

HOWENSTINE MAKES HISTORY
Freshman phenom Charlie Howenstine put his name in the Capital lacrosse record books with his five total assists in the game, which brought his season total to 34 and broke the program's single-season assist record. The old mark of 31 was set by CJ Hughes in 2019. With two games left in the regular season plus the high likelihood of postseason play, Howestine is set up to pull well past his peers.
