COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University baseball team began its home schedule on Tuesday afternoon, playing host to the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan University.
The Comets took an early lead in the second inning, plating four runs to best the one run scored by Ohio Wesleyan in the top half of the inning. Unfortunately, OWU would add more to their total throughout the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to take quite a hold on the game. Capital did not back down, plating four more in the sixth and seventh to eat into the deficit. In the end it would not be enough as Ohio Wesleyan took the game firmly in hand in the eighth and ninth resulting in an unfavorable 20-8 final for the Comets.
Capital's record falls to 4-6.
OWU moves to 8-3.
