COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University volleyball team concluded the 2022 edition of the Pam Briggs Classic on Saturday morning with a 3-1 loss to Earlham College.
The Comets went 1-2 at the annual event in which they co-host with Otterbein each year. This year's edition featured the hosts Capital and Otterbein, along with Birmingham Southern, Defiance, Thiel, Hanover, and Earlham.
The Comets were defeated by Hanover and Earlham, while they beat Defiance.
Today's match saw Capital go a dramatic distance with Earlham, but ultimately fall by a final score of 3-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The first set went the way of the Quakers by a score of 25-17, before both teams refused to give up in the second set. The Comets gave Earlham all they could handle, leading to a 30-28 second set score. Unfortunately for Cap, that score again favored the opposition.
The Comets again took the Quakers deep in the third set, but this time, they got the benefit of the doubt, claiming the third set 26-24.
