DELAWARE, Ohio – The Capital University volleyball team made the short trip to the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University on Wednesday for a matchup with the Battling Bishops at Branch Rickey Arena. Unfortunately, things did not go the Comets' way, losing the match in four sets, 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 25-21, 25-13).
The Purple and White fall to 3-6 on the season.
OWU ascends to 2-7.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Comets came out strong, winning the first set by four points, 25-21, and looked to be in position to build their lead in the second. However, a strong stand by the Bishops (25-20) tied the match at one win apiece. Capital came back strong in the third set, bolstering out to an early lead. Things changed after a well-timed timeout swung the momentum back in the direction of Ohio Wesleyan (25-21) and the home squad took the match lead two sets to one. In the fourth, CU was outmatched and OWU would go one to take the set, 25-13, and the match, 3-1.
