WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – You mind as well give Adam Czerniakowski a Green Jacket as the sophomore out of Sylvania, Ohio rounded the River Greens Golf Course with the second lowest 18-hole score in program history of 68, claiming medalist honors at John Carroll's, John DiCillo Memorial. In the process, Czerniakowski led the Comets to the win as a team in the event. 

The winning group consisted of Czerniakowski, Colin Frimel, Jack Curtis, Adam Murphy, and Ricky Walsh. The "so-called" B team for the day compiled a score of 296 on the course that will feature the OAC Championships at the end of the month. The 296 tied for the sixth lowest team score in program history – a mark they shot at the 2015 OAC Championships. 

The rest of the Comets' individual scores came as a 74 for Curtis, a 77 for both Murphy and Walsh, and a 79 for Frimel. 

Constructing the 'A' team for the day and placing second as a team were Angelo Donato, Andrew Simpson, Shane Murphy, Ryan Murphy, and Ben Satterthwaite. This grouping scored a 299 total score, tying for the ninth lowest 18-hole team score in program history. 

Leading the way for the second place effort was a 72 from both Donato and Satterthwaite. Simpson submitted a scorecard of 77, while both Murphy brothers shot a 78. 

The tournament win for the Capital men's golf program marked the second time this year that they claimed the team win at an event as they also won the Gatorade Collegiate hosted by the College of Wooster back in the fall portion of the season.
