COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Saturday afternoon, the Capital University volleyball team came out swinging against the No. 18 ranked Otterbein University Cardinals, but could not keep up in the end and fell by a final score of 3-0. 

The sets went in order to Otterbein by scores of 25-19, 25-20, and 25-13. After today's result, Otterbein improves to 14-4 overall and 2-0 in the conference. Capital bumps back to 8-10 overall and is 0-1 in the OAC. 

All-in-all the Comets were overwhelmed by a .308 hitting percentage from the Cardinals, led heavily by 15 kills and just one error on 29 swings in the third and final set. 

For Capital, Audrey James led the offense with eight kills, good for a .263 hitting percentage. Alissa Holler was not far back with five kills, while Larissa Smith added four kills. 

Reagan Willoughby set up 22 assists as the primary setter this morning. 

Capital's defense played well as Larissa Smith accounted for four solo blocks on her own. Alissa Holler and Audrey James combined for the other Comet block. 

In the back row, Abby Brunner led the way with 12 digs, followed by Paree Furness and Reagan Willoughby who had eight scoops each. Olivia Spillers had a solid game in reserve with five digs, an ace, and a kill. 

Brunner led the team in service aces with two, while Willoughby accounted for the fourth of the game.
