ADA -- On Saturday afternoon, the Capital University cross country teams returned to the course for the first time since 2019.
Neither program competed as a team, but the men featured three individuals and the women had four individuals on course.
On the men's side,
Donovan Slattery was the top finisher with a time of 20:21.3 and good for 41st place. Fellow sophomore
Sam Siedel placed 62nd with a time of 21:16.6. Zach Brown rounded out the men's competitors with a time of 25:03.5 in 92nd place.
For the women,
Anya Vanasdale placed 16th in a time of 19:59.5 -- a collegiate 5K PR for her. The next finisher for Capital was
Eva Bernhardt who placed 46th with a time of 22:20.3. Finishing the course together,
Grace Lockard and
Heather Fryman crossed the line in 66th and 67th, with times of 26:40.6 and 27:44.2, respectively.
The Capital coaches -- impressed with the efforts today -- will take the team to their next meet at The All- Ohio Championships on September 17th. The meet will be held at Cedarville University.
