WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- On Monday afternoon, the Ohio Athletic Conference announced Capital University's
Anya Vanasdale as the OAC Runner of the Week.
The award is Anya's first of her young career in cross country. As a sophomore academically and a freshman on the cross country course, Vanasdale's effort at the Findlay Invitational this past weekend already cemented herself in the program history books.
Running in a Division II heavy field of runners, Vanasdale placed 15th overall, and first among Division III competitors. Her time clocked in at 24:07.8, which now sits her 11th best in Capital history. The race was Vanasdale's first on a collegiate 6K course after she missed the All-Ohio Championships a week ago.
Vanasdale will look to lead the team back on the course again in a couple of weeks at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble. The race will take place on October 16th.
