BEREA, Ohio –  The Capital University baseball team dropped another twinbill this season on the road at Baldwin Wallace University. On Sunday, the hosts took both games by scores of 8-4 and 17-8.

The losses moved Capital season record to 4-26, while BW improved to 18-12-1 on the year.

Ryan Henne led the offense with three hits, while Logan White had the biggest hit of the day for the Crusaders -- a two-run homer in the top of the first in game two.

GAME ONE - BW wins 8-4 (Box Score)
Capital played from behind early as the team conceded four runs by the end of the third inning.

Despite trailing, Capital got a run back in the top of the fourth. With two runners on, Brendan Barnette reached on a fielder's choice that enabled Brendan Stinson to score.

The Crusaders continued to work back into the game as they scored two runs in the top of the sixth. Dakota DesteFano smacked an RBI double to right center that scored Stinson. DesteFano then scored on an RBi single from Kurt Maxwell.

The Yellow Jackets shut down any chance at a comeback with four runs in the bottom of the eighth.

The Crusaders tacked on a consolation run in the ninth as Ryan Henne scored on an error, but the run proved to be too-little-too-late.

Curtis Clark started on the bump for the Purple and White and conceded nine hits and four runs. He did punch out four batters in his work. Spencer Knight and Kyle Bowles combined for 1.2 innings of work and allowed four runs.

GAME TWO - BW wins 17-8 (Box score)
Capital started strong in game two, carrying a 7-5 lead by the middle of the fourth inning.

Things got started with a bang in the top of the first. Ryan Henne drew a walk and scored on a two-run bomb from Logan White. The dinger was White's fifth of the year.

After an Alex Ludwick solo shot in the bottom of the first, Capital struck for two more runs in the second. Cole Callaghan knocked home Ben Stevens on a groundout. Abram Sykora then followed up with an RBI groundout of his own, scoring Joshua Tyler.

Capital once again rebounded from some BW offense with two more runs in the top of the third. Stevens tagged an RBI double that scored Logan White and Tyler hit a sac fly that scored Brendan Stinson.

For the fourth straight inning, Cap responded to BW's offense with another run. After walking to lead off the inning, Cole Callaghan scored on a wild pitch to push the score to 7-5.

From there, the Crusaders offense slowed allowing the Yellow Jackets to overtake the lead at 12-7 after the sixth inning.

In the top of the seventh, Cap got a run back when Ryan Henne scored on a wild pitch. Unfortunately for the Crusaders though, that would be the culmination of their offense. Baldwin Wallace would go on to score five more runs to seal the win at 17-8.

Capital threw seven pitchers in the game. Bryant Caporale started and tossed 2.2 innings and allowed six hits and five runs. Connor McCloy was strapped with the loss in his time on the mound. McCloy struggled for control and walked three batters and hit one that resulted in two earned runs being scored in the fifth inning.
