ALLIANCE, Ohio – Capital University Baseball dropped a pair of games in its doubleheader at the University of Mount Union on Saturday afternoon. Cap will regroup for another twinbill against Mount Union at Clowson Field on Sunday afternoon.

Capital was in a good spot with a 5-1 lead heading into the back half of game one's action. Run-scoring singles by
Konnor Black and
Abram Sykora helped the Crusaders jump out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning and was later supported in the fourth by an RBI single from
Brendan Stinson.
Cap starting pitcher
Tucker Craft (ND) cruised in his first trip through the Purple Raiders' lineup with 1-2-3 innings through the first three frames. His second pass through was disrupted by Trey Weaver's RBI single to get Mount Union on the board and then two more runs in the sixth to trim the Capital lead to two, 5-3.
Mount Union posted a four-run seventh inning behind a pair of two-RBI hits from the middle of the Raider lineup. The following inning the Raiders scored twice more to grow its lead to four, 9-5. In his fourth inning of work, Billy Keller shut the door on Capital in the ninth despite placing the tying run on base. He struck out Sykora to end the game and strand both runners.
GAME 2 | Capital 0, Mount Union 10 (F/7)

Mount Union made a statement to begin the game, posting four runs in the opening inning against Capital's
Scott Gutstein (L, 0-6). Gutstein then settled down and retired nine straight before surrendering four more runs in his fifth and final inning of work.
Purple Raider pitcher Carson Davis stalled Capital's offense with seven innings of three-hit ball. The Purple and White were unable to get any spark from its bats before Mount Union delivered the final blow.
Up 8-0, the Purple Raiders tagged on two additional runs in the bottom of the seventh to end the game early.
Capital (4-20) will play two more against the Purple Raiders at home on Sunday, April 24. First pitch of game 1 will be thrown at 1 p.m.
