Capital's offense continues its struggles to break through its opponent's defenses, hitting in the negative in both matches. Muskingum was stout at the net, tallied eight blocks in the first match then 10 in the second. Conversely, Capital managed just one in each.
Muskingum's Maddie McGee dropped 14 kills on 32 attempts (.375) while accounting for three block assists in the first match of the evening. Teammate Raegan Flood hit .500 (7-1-12), helping account for Musky's .303 team hit percentage. Capital's
Delanie Nahikian led the team with eight kills on 31 tries (.097). Muskingum took the first match in three (25-17, 25-20, 25-9).
The tale of the second match was much of the same with Muskingum continuing the rule the net on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Khloe Taylor racked up 19 kills and hit .390 to pace the MU offensive, feeding into the team's .296 success rate.
Miranda Jordan and
Erin O'Connell each tallied 12 digs, while Nahikian again led the team in kills (5). The Muskies took the second match by counts of 25-12, 25-13, and 25-17.
