ALLIANCE, Ohio – Capital University Women's Soccer continued its dominant performance with Sunday's shutout win over the University of Mount Union at Mount Union Stadium. The Crusaders are now 4-0-0 and have not allowed a single goal in 360 minutes of action.

While the first half featured a scoreless 45, Capital ruled the stat sheet by outshooting the Purple Raiders, 15-3, and not allowing a shot to reach goalkeeper Lauren White. That trend continued into the second half, where Capital limited Mount Union to just one shot attempt while taking 19. White made the save on the long shot on goal Mount Union collected.

Despite the barrage of shots laid on Mount Union, Capital scored twice over the final 45. Freshman Sophia Leonetti (Westerville, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) scored her first of the season and of her career in the 49th minute, which would have been enough to earn the win. To add to the result, senior Bridget Mallin (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) also found the back of the Mount Union cage with her first goal of the season to double up the lead in the 89th minute.

In a losing effort, Purple Raider goalie Claudia Wilson made 16 saves to limit the damage. White pitched yet another clean sheet, which now has led to four consecutive shutouts for the Crusaders to begin the season.

Capital will go for its fifth straight shutout and win this Thursday night, April 1, when they welcome Muskingum University to Bernlohr Stadium for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
