Capital Remains Unbeaten in 4-0 Win over Marietta

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital women's soccer squad picked up their third win of the season in the 4-0 triumph over Marietta to remain undefeated and extend their shutout streak. The Crusaders offense has 11 goals in just three contests and the tandem of Lauren White and Alexa Chieffo have kept opponents out of the scoring column for 270 minutes of gameplay.

BIG NUMBERS
  • In the early goings of the evening, both Capital and Marietta were battling for possession, and were able to put together scoring opportunities that were thwarted by the opposing team.
  • However, it did not take long for the Crusaders to put together some offense and net a goal off the foot of Kailey Stanisovska in the 18th minute to get the early advantage.
  • Each team continued to push and have their chances but ultimately neither found success as the half concluded 1-0.
  • Coming out of the break, Capital hit their stride and just four minutes in, Olivia Rotolo scored on a pass from Avery Hart to double the Crusader lead in minute 49.
  • The shots continued to pour in for the Purple and White and in the 58th minute Gabbi Viggiano found the back of the net to increase the lead to three.
  • Marietta was unable to mount any sort of answer and were unable to get a shot off in the entire second period.
  • Stanisovska scored her second of the night in the 76th minute to put a bow on the contest and help lead Capital to the 4-0 victory at the fulltime whistle.

  • Stanisovska scored two goals on the night, bringing her total to three for the season to lead the team with six points.
  • Rotolo netted her second goal of the year and Viggiano her first.
