COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital men's golf team earned their second runner-up finish of the young season, turning in a 307 to come in just one stroke back of host Muskingum University at the Muskingum Spring Invitational in the five team field.
Angelo Donato paced the team on the nearly 7,000 yard track at Zanesville Country Club, shooting a three-over 75 to come in nearly six strokes under the course average and grab a share of third place, the second time he has done that in as many tournaments.
Andrew Simpson and
Ben Satterthwaite saw their first action in the Purple and White, each carding 77 to tie for sixth-place and keep Capital near the top of the leaderboard.
Colin Frimel turned in the final counting round for the squad, taking 13th place with a 78, while
Shane Murphy came in just behind with an 80 to take a share of 23rd.
The whole starting five came in below the course stroke average of 80.91 and scattered seven birdies, Donato holing three of them, across the afternoon.
