COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University men's lacrosse team took their lumps on Saturday afternoon, falling at the hands of John Carroll University (2-1), 27-9, to move to 2-1 on the season.

TOUGH FROM THE START
  • The Blue Streaks came out of the gate shooting and managed two goals in the first 30 seconds of the contest.
  • They kept up the pressure and were able to score five more before junior Jack Scharner was able to find the back of the net to make the score 7-1 with 6:07 to play in the first.
  • Capital's defense had no answer for John Carroll in the second quarter either as goals kept hitting home and the score ballooned to 16-3 at the half, with senior Dylan Comella and sophomore Johnathon Kilgallon each scoring.
  • The Crusaders were able to put together a little bit of offense to close the game, scoring the last four goals but by that time the game was well out of hand and resulted in a 27-9 loss.

KEY STATS
  • Kilgallon scored three timed to lead the team, matching his career high set versus Marietta a week ago.
  • Sophomore Brenden Pelton and Comella each scored twice on the afternoon.
  • The team was 10 of 11 on clear attempts and picked up 31 groundballs.

UP NEXT
  • Capital travels to Ohio Northern on Wednesday, March 17th for a 7 p.m. tilt in Ada, Ohio.
