COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University men's basketball team moved to 2-4 on the season after a 68-61 loss to Wilmington (2-4). The contest featured 11 lead changes and five ties, coming down to the final two minutes before the game was out of reach and the Quakers sealed the victory.

  • At that point the Quakers started to knock down shots at a higher clip and build out an eight point lead with five to play.
  • Capital cut into the lead at several points but could not gain the advantage as a Quakers three with five second left in the half brought the score to 37-30 in favor of Wilmington at the break.

  • Wilmington made the first bucket of the second half but freshman Carter Combs was shot out of a cannon and after hitting four of Capital's first five shots, put the Crusaders up 43-40 at the 16:33 mark.
  • Wilmington eventually retook the lead but Reed Bradfield tied it back up with a layup with 13 minutes to play at 45-45.
  • After that the Crusaders went on a run to amass a seven point lead but the Quakers quickly dropped that advantage with a 6-0 run to square the contest back up at 56s.
