COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Zach Hollingsworth, a 2008 Capital graduate and former Capital University men's basketball player, passed away on October 8, 2021. While at Capital, Zach earned a degree in Education and was instrumental in the men's basketball program history. In particular, Hollingsworth had a large impact on the team's success of winning two OAC regular season championships (2007 and 2008), one OAC tournament championship (2007) and qualifying for two NCAA appearances (2007 and 2008). Most importantly, Zach was a team captain and one of the best teammates that has ever worn a Capital jersey. His parents, Dave and Lisa Hollingsworth, and family were very supportive of Zach's career at Capital. He leaves behind a four year old son, Jaxton.
Capital Men's Basketball will host a Remembrance Game in Zach's honor on Sunday, November 28th against Manchester. A ceremony to remember Zach's life and contributions to Capital will be held just prior to the National Anthem.

2004: Graduate of Wilmington (OH) High School
2008: Graduate of Capital University with a bachelors degree in Education. Honored teammate of the men's Capital Basketball program.
2008-2012: Multiple tours of Afghanistan as an officer in the Marine Corps.
2012-2015: Taught and coached basketball at Centerville (OH) HS.
2016: MBA Graduate – Ohio University
2016-2021: Contract Specialist at Wright Patterson Air Force Base
2017-2021: Co-owner of "Freedom Whiskey" honoring military veterans in all branches. Zach never took a profit from Freedom Whiskey, all profits were reinvested into the company or given away to help military veterans, including to the "Fisher House Foundation".
