Bryan Bidwell will begin his first season as an assistant softball coach at Capital during the spring of 2022. Bidwell will primarily work with the team's catchers, but will assist in the team operations through a variety of other tasks.Â
Bidwell joins head coach Andrea Nagy's coaching staff with a background consisting primarily of baseball coaching experience, but he has worked with softball players since October of 2021. He currently serves as a Pro Baseball and Softball Instructor with DBAT Columbus North where he puts on group clinics in the areas of catching, hitting, fielding, and pitching. He also works in this role holding private instruction sessions as well. Concurrent with his work at DBAT, Bidwell currently serves as a U17/18 Head Baseball Coach and President for 1848 Dawgs Travel Baseball Organization. In this role, he oversees the team's operations and tournament and mid-week game schedule while also running the Board of Directors for the organization.Â
Prior to joining Capital's staff, Bidwell served as the Ridgedale High School varsity baseball head coach for two seasons where he gained experience in team fundraising, scheduling, and facility management. Prior to this role, Bidwell worked as a head coach for Cardington-Lincoln's JV team, Strike Force Baseball Academy's youth teams, and Diamond Boys Baseball Club's youth teams.Â
Aside from strictly coaching, Bidwell also works with the Westerville Youth Baseball and Softball Leagues, working as a registration director and the tee-ball commissioner.
Bidwell graduated from Kent State University in December of 2019 where he earned a degree in Public Health Service Administration. With that degree, Bidwell spent just over two years working at Nationwide Children's Hospital as a Pyxis Team Lead and Assistant Manager.Â
Bryan currently resides in Sunbury, Ohio.
