Andrea Klingle

Andrea Klingle has been an assistant coach at Capital since 2007. The former Crusader played for Coach Payne during the 2006 and 2007 seasons after transferring from Clark State Community College.

Since Klingle has joined the coaching staff, Capital has seen an OAC regular season championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance, both in 2013. Following that season, the Capital coaching staff was named OAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

The Crusaders have won 20 or more games in all but one season since she has stepped on campus. Capital has won eight or more conference games in nine out of 11 seasons since she has been on the staff, and in 2017 advanced to the OAC Tournament Championship where they finished runners up.

In 2015, Capital’s LeAnna Cotton was named an All-American, joining an exclusive Crusader club with just four others. Klingle also saw four total players named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region teams, six on the All-OAC teams, and four earning Academic All-OAC honors that year.

Altogether, Klingle has been instrumental in grooming 16 all-region selections, two OAC Players of the Year, 24 Academic All-OAC honorees, and 38 All-OAC picks.

Klingle's playing career at Capital was highlighted in her senior season, when she started 24 games and scored 12 runs. The Crusaders were 25-17 that season and fourth in the OAC standings with a 13-5 record.

Her career at CU was preceded by a two year stint at Clark State, where she was recognized as an All-Region player on CSCC's 2005 squad that advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament.

Klingle graduated from Capital in 2007 with a degree in psychology.
