The 2021-22 academic year will be Marshall Amon's first on the men's lacrosse coaching staff. He joins head coach A.J. Smith's inaugural staff after most recently completing his Bachelor's Degree in English Studies at Miami University of Ohio.

Amon comes to Capital with approximately six years of applicable coaching experience at both the club and high school levels. He currently remains on staff as a Head Positional Coach with True Royals Lacrosse Inc. in Columbus. Prior to True Lacrosse, he formerly coached the Cincinnati Royals and Flying Tigers summer teams as well.

In addition to his summer league coaching, Amon worked at both Loveland and Indian Hill High Schools over the past two years as a JV head coach and Varsity assistant. In both of these roles, Amon worked on scouting, physical conditioning, mentoring, teaching and analyzing film for the team.

In addition to his formal coaching roles with schools and clubs, Amon has also worked as a Private Instructor and Goalie Coach running 1-on-1 lessons to improve lacrosse goalies.

In his playing days, Amon was the goalie at Cleveland State University, where he was coached by current PLL goalie Kyle Bernlohr. He completed his playing career and transferred to Miami to finish his degree. Prior to his collegiate career, Amon was a four-year starter for Loveland High School where he was a three-time All-State and All-Region player. He was also named a 2016 All-American and was the June 6, 2021 National Player of the Week. He held the Pre-OHSAA record for most saves in a game with 30 in a triple OT win over St. Xavier. Also, during the 2015 season, he won the Brogden Cup with Team Ohio where they competed against Team Canada. During the summer, he competed for the now disbanded Cincinnati Royals Summer Team.

As he is pursuing his Masters of Education on a School Counseling Track at Capital, he has held various relative internships in the counseling realm. Currently, he is serving as a shadow assistant to the school counselor at Central Crossing High School. Prior to that, he spent five months in the same role at Norton Middle School working with students, educators, and administrators to implement programs to assist in effective time management, managing grief, and career services.Â
