The 2023 men's lacrosse season will be the first for Kyle Peters as an assistant coach on AJ Smith's coaching staff.
Peters comes to Capital as an assistant coach with a pedigree of experience as both a player and coach at the Division III level. As a player, Peters played for Centenary University in New Jersey where he graduated with a degree in business marketing in 2015. On the team, Peters led the CSAC Conference and ranked 39th nationally in caused turnovers per game with 2.08 in 2014. In the school record books, Peters sits third in caused turnovers (59), fourth in single season caused turnovers (27 - four shy of program record), and is tied for fourth in games played (59 - three games shy of program record).
Prior to Centenary, Peters played high school lacrosse at Hatboro-Horsham in Pennsylvania where he was coached by Dave Sowers, the father of Michael Sowers, a current player on the PLL Waterdogs. He also competed in club lacrosse for Twist Lacrosse.
After completing his collegiate playing days, Peters worked as the Defensive Coordinator and Strength & Conditioning Coach for Alvernia University in 2016 and 2017. There, he helped manage recruiting and developed the team's strength and conditioning plan. He also guided the team's defensive efforts where he helped the team reduce their total penalties from 71 to 52 in just one year. That reduction translated to a reduction of 12 minutes and 30 seconds of penalties.
Off the field, Peters has begun a successful career s a marketer and business strategy professional. Currently, he is working as a Growth Hacker on the Innovation and Strategy team at Nestle. He currently resides in the Columbus area.
