BIOGRAPHY
Adam Stewart will enter his first season as the head coach of Capital men's lacrosse in 2024-25. This will be his second stint with the program after serving as the Offensive Coordinator in 2023.

Stewart returns to Capital after a brief stint leading the varsity boys lacrosse team at Granville High School as their head coach.

Prior to his time at Granville, Stewart was on staff as an assistant coach at Capital during the 2023 season where he assisted the team in finishing 13-5 overall and improving from sixth to third in the OAC standings from the prior season. With his assistance, six Comets earned All-OAC honors at season's end and four Comets earned USILA national weekly recognition throughout the season. That same year, with Stewart serving as the Offensive Coordinator, several program records were set offensively.

Before his time at Capital, Stewart matured as a lacrosse coach at his alma mater Denison University spending a combined 10 seasons on the staff of one of the nation's premier lacrosse programs. There, Stewart aided in the mentorship of 11 All-Americans, five Conference Players of the Year and the only two 100+ point scorers in program history.  His offensive units with the Big Red regularly ranked in the Top-10 in the nation in scoring offense, shooting percentage, extra man percentage, turnovers per game, assists per game, and scoring margin.

Also while at Denison, Stewart spent time working as an Assistant Director of Parent and Family Philanthropy for the university.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Stewart has served as a coach and director with True Lacrosse Club Ohio where he assists in the operations of the program consisting of more than 400 players. Along with this club coaching, Stewart spent seven years serving as the Director of Sales and Operations at The Lax Shop here in Columbus.

Recently, Stewart has begun his own organization called The GR8 TM8 Project. Through this organization, Stewart leads workshops focused on combining the teachings and foundations of positive psychology with the process of leadership development and mental well-being.

Stewart holds a Bachelor's degree from Denison University in Political Science and a Master's degree from the University of Missouri in Positive Coaching and Athletic Leadership. He resides in Granville with his wife Anne, and their three daughters Isla, Tallulah and Bella.

DR. DARRELL BAILEY SR. ON STEWART'S HIRE
"I am very excited to welcome Adam Stewart back to Capital in his new role," exclaimed Dr. Bailey. "His strong background in coaching especially within the Division III environment gives us confidence he will help us continue our ascension within the OAC. His wide range of experiences within coaching, leadership training, and fundraising will enhance our student-athlete experience and elevate our department as a whole."

STEWART ON THE OPPORTUNITY
"I am humbled by the opportunity to step into this leadership role with Capital men's lacrosse," said Stewart. "There is a great foundation here, built upon the efforts of Coach Olin, Coach Marzano and Coach Smith, and I am grateful to be the next steward of this program and lead these student-athletes into the future of Comets Lacrosse. I want to thank President Kaufman and Dr. Bailey for their trust in me, and for the love and support of my wonderful family," continued Stewart. "Our purpose will be clear, to pursue our potential with joy and humility while embracing the opportunity to compete at the highest level."
