Capital University alum T.J. Langermeier ’15 will return to don the Purple and White in his third season as a collegiate coach. Langermeier will begin working with multiple offensive position groups heading into the 2020 season.

Langermeier, a 2015 Capital graduate, played for the Crusaders from 2011 to 2014. He was a four-year letter winner and three-year starting linebacker. He accumulated 91 tackles, 51 solo, with a season-best 60 as a junior. His senior season began strongly behind a game versus Wilmington College in which he made nine stops, 3.5 tackles for loss, recovered one fumble and cause one fumble in a 34-21 win. That was followed up with seven more tackles and one fumble recovery the following week at Muskingum University before his season was cut short by injury.

After earning his degree in political science, Langermeier went on to begin his coaching career at Upper Arlington High School as its linebackers coach and technology coordinator. In three years with the Golden Bears, he helped develop three all-state linebackers (Dante Landolfi, Mason Myers, Ben Krimm) and two all-state running backs. In 2015, Upper Arlington advanced to the Ohio Division 1 State Playoffs and the following year the team pulled off a victory over then-No. 1 Pickerington Central High School.
