Drake Voris

Drake Voris enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Capital University football team. Voris serves as the defensive line coach.

With his guidance, the Crusaders reduced the number of rushing yards allowed per game by nearly 30 between the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Last year, Capital defensive linemen added to the defense’s dramatic increase in sack production, totaling 10 more than the prior season.

Voris, a graduate and former player at Capital, coached at Teays Valley High School where he gained experience as a defensive assistant coach at his alma mater. He was responsible for charting defensive plays for the Vikings. Voris also brings experience on helping athletes improve their physical abilities, working as the speed and agility coach at Spartan Gym.

Voris was a defensive lineman for the Crusaders while completing his degree in health and fitness management (2013). While finishing his degree, he served as a student intern coach for Capital Football working with the defensive line and strength and conditioning program. He went on to spent parts of 2014 with Ohio Christian University as its strength and conditioning coach before moving on to coach area middle and high school football in the area.

He resides in Ashville, Ohio with his wife Alley and their two daughters.
