    Volunteer Assistant Baseball Coach
Steve Boyd will continue with the Capital Baseball staff for the 2024 season in a volunteer capacity for the third season. He will primarily work with Capital's catchers. 

A native of Columbus, Boyd played college baseball at Southern Illinois University under legendary coach Richard 'Itchy' Jones. 

After stellar campaigns at the collegiate level, Boyd was selected in the fifth round of the MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox after his junior year. Deciding to return to school for his senior year, Boyd was then selected in the second round of the draft by the St. Louis Cardinals a year later and began his professional playing career with the Cardinals in the New York-Pennsylvania League.

Boyd currently lives in Grove City, OH with his wife of 28-years, Jill.  They have three grown children.
