Capital University

Cody Dennis will enter his second season on the Capital coaching staff for the 2023 season as a full-time assistant coach. Dennis will continue his role as the Baserunning Coach and will add responsibilities as the team's Recruiting Coordinator and Infield Coach. 

During Dennis' first season at Capital, the team increased their stolen bases number from 24 in 2021 to 56 in 2022 -- a 233% increase. That same season, Dennis helped coach Brendan Stinson to a single-season record for walks with 31 and Logan White to an All-OAC honorable mention accolade. 

Before joining the Comets coaching staff, Dennis competed at Culver-Stockton College while completing his M.Ed degree. There, he played for head coach Brad Gyorkos nd batted .331 and stole 16 bases at an 89% success rate. He also finished in the Top-50 in the nation in assists. 

Prior to playing at Culver-Stockton, Dennis played at Youngstown State University under head coach Dan Bertolini. There, he received his Bachelors of Arts degree in history with a minor in coaching. 

Dennis's collegiate playing career got underway at Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio. Known for their success at the junior college level, Sinclair won the OCCAC regular season and made an appearance in the regional finals with Dennis on the team. He played 33 games as a freshman under head coach Steve Dintaman that season. 

A native of Hanover, Ohio, Dennis attended Licking Valley High School where he earned first team All-Conference honors in baseball and soccer.
