INDIANPOLIS, Ind. -- The Capital University women's bowling team competed at the nationally recognized Hoosier Classic on February 14th and 15th in Indianapolis, Indiana. There, the Comets' varsity team placed 44th out of 64 teams among th top competition in the nation.
After five games of individual and team play, the Comets scored 4,453 pins, highlighted by a team-best game of 968. The next day, Capital competed in 15 baker games, totaling 2,271 pins, with a high game of 192. The team finished with a combined team score of 6,724 to finish 44th overall.
The Comets were led individually by
Jolene Powers who scored a five-game total of 990. Her high game score was 225 in game two. She placed 53rd out of 417 bowlers who bowled at least one game on the day.
Samantha Jay was next for the Comets, scoring 965 over the five games. Her high game was a 223 in the opening game of the day. She placed 77th overall.
Olivia Hicks was next to place for the Comets with a total score of 876 and a high game of 223 in her third game.
Kaitlyn Sturgell was the next Comet as she scored 634 across four games. Her high score was a 184 in the third game.
Cassidi Johnson was next as she bowled three games to score 484. Her high game came in the second game with a 213.
Sadie Bassitt scored a two-game score of 352 with a high of 204.
Alyssa Gehring bowled one game, scoring 152.
