ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Capital University volleyball team traveled to Mount Union on Friday night where they fell 3-0 (25-13, 25-9, 25-21). The Comets now rest at 3-14 on the year and 0-4 in the conference, while Mount improves to 16-3 and 2-1 in the OAC.
The hosts operated at a high level all match, hitting an astounding .468 and unfortunately the Comets could not keep pace. Despite the challenging night, Capital finished on a high note, attacking at a .429 clip in the third set on 13 kills with just one error.
A quartet of Comets settled with six kills led by
Cici Harris who had a team-best .333 attacking percentage.
Chloe Preocanin,
Abby Reed and
Ava Knight also landed six kills.
Jasmine Easterday was the team leader in assists as she set up 11, followed by
Stefanee Stacey who had eight and
Carlee Thompson who had seven set-ups.
Shy Black had the match-high in digs, finishing with nine. Preocanin had five digs as well.
At the net, Reed led with two blocks, while Preocanin was in on one.
Preocanin also led the team recording the only ace of the night.
