WILMINGTON, Ohio – In what proved to be a strong offensive outing by both teams, the Capital University men's basketball team let Wilmington slip away late on to claim an 94-89 victory on Wednesday night. Both teams shot the ball north of 50% overall in the game, with the Quakers holding a slight 53%-50% edge.
With the result, Capital falls to 6-8 overall and 1-4 in the OAC, while Wilmington improves to 7-6 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
Se'Ron Calloway-White was the leader for the Comets as he scored a new career-high in his fourth consecutive game of scoring 20 or more points. Tonight, he finished with 25 points on 12-for-22 shooting, while adding eight rebounds and three steals.
Also reaching double-figures in the game for the Comets were
McKane Finkenbine with 18 points,
Dallas Tucker with 15 points,
Julian Mitchell with 14 points, and
Cade Davies with 10 points. As a team, the Comets had six players convert 50% or more of their shots in the game.
On the glass,
Chris Mitchell led the team with 10 rebounds – his seventh game of 10 or more rebounds this season. Behind Calloway-White's eight boards, Davies added five rebounds, while
Julian Mitchell and
Kamran Ensley each added two boards.
Julian Mitchell was the leading assist man with three dimes, while Ensley and
Chris Mitchell each had two.
Finkenbine and Davies each added two steals to lead behind Calloway-White's three swipes.

Capital will stay on the road this coming Saturday as they travel to crosstown rivals Otterbein for a 7 p.m tip-off or 30-minutes after the conclusion of the women's game which begins at 5 p.m.
