MARIETTA, Ohio – Capital women's basketball picked up a hard-fought Ohio Athletic Conference road victory on Saturday afternoon, holding off Marietta for an 85-79 win at Ban Johnson Arena. The win improves Capital to 12-6 overall and 5-4 in OAC play.
The Comets and Pioneers went back and forth throughout the opening quarter, with Capital edging out a 21-20 lead after 10 minutes. Marietta responded in the second quarter, using an offensive surge to take a 49–39 advantage into halftime.
Capital flipped the momentum coming out of the break, shooting over 70 percent from the field in the third quarter while outscoring Marietta 27-16. The Comets reclaimed the lead late in the period and carried a 66–65 advantage into the final 10 minutes.
The fourth quarter featured multiple lead changes before Capital executed down the stretch. Kya Jordan and Samaree Perkins provided key baskets in the closing minutes, while Kendall Spreen sealed the win at the free-throw line in the final seconds.

Samaree Perkins followed with 20 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Kyah Ewing added 14 points off the bench, and Kya Jordan chipped in 11 points as the Comets placed four players in double figures.
Capital finished the game shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range, using efficient offense to overcome Marietta's second-quarter run.
