NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Capital University women's lacrosse team (9-5, 5-2 OAC) hit the road for their regular season finale on Wednesday, traveling to play Muskingum (6-10, 1-6 OAC). The Comets would cruise to a 25-4 win, claiming the three-seed in the upcoming OAC Tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED
CU started off strong, scoring nine in the first quarter and holding Muskingum to just one. Osborn would have four of the nine with
Ava Vendetti taking two, and
Leah Leno,
Andi Henry, and
Dylan Smith each scoring one. Cap continued to roll into the second quarter, with an eight-goal run between the last four of the first and the first four of the second, on their way to a 6-1 quarter and a 15-2 halftime lead. Osborn added four more with Henry also netting another and
Amber Street scoring her first.
The Purple and White would cruise in the second half, outscoring the Muskies 5-1 in both the third and fourth quarters en route to a 25-4 victory. In the third, it was Osborn with another two goals alongside one more each for Vendetti, Leno, and Henry. Finally, in the fourth it was another two for Vendetti as well as one apiece for Henry, Osborn, and Leno.
THE NUMBERS
Grace Osborn led all scorers with 11 goals, adding three assists for 14 points, as well as securing 15 draw controls, three ground balls, and one caused turnover.
Ava Vendetti and
Andi Henry both finished with seven points. Vendetti did it with five goals and two assists as well as three draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Henry did it with four goals and three assists.
Likewise,
Leah Leno and
Dylan Smith each secured four points. Leno had a career-high three goals with one assist, while Smith did the inverse with one goal and three assists.
Amber Street scored one goal and collected her first career draw control.
Brenna Todd had one assist with three draw controls and one ground ball.
CU was led on the defensive end by
Holly Stoner (3 CT, 2 GB),
Avery Hart (3 CT, 2 GB, 1 DC),
Rylee Jarvis (3 GB),
Ele Shalawylo (1 GB), and
Grace Wolfe (1 GB).
Emily Serafinchon (7-4) made five saves and picked up two ground balls during her night in the cage.

The Comets turn their sights to the OAC Tournament with seeding and schedules still to be determined. All they know right now is that they'll be hosting someone on Saturday at Bernlohr Stadium.
