Women’s Lacrosse Falls to No. 18 Denison

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's lacrosse team (3-2, 0-0 OAC) suffered their second loss of the season on Wednesday night at Bernlohr Stadium, falling to No. 18 Denison (3-2, 0-0 NCAC) 20-9.

The offense was slow from the get-go for the Comets as they struggled to control the draw and therefore spent much of their night in the defensive zone. Cap scraped together two goals in the first quarter courtesy of Grace Osborn and another in the second from Avery Hart. On the other had, Denison scored six in each the first and second quarters to take a demanding 12-3 lead at halftime.

CU offense jump-started a little bit at the beginning of the second half with five goals in the third quarter – three from Osborn and one each from Ava Vendetti and Andi Henry – but those were unfortunately cancelled out by five from the other side, leaving it at 17-8 entering the fourth quarter. Denison added three more in the fourth, holding the Purple and White to just one from Henry to end the game at 20-9.
