WOOSTER, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis secured their first win of the spring season on Sunday, outscoring Wooster 5-2 with two doubles wins and four singles wins.
DOUBLES
The Comets started off the day strong in doubles, nearly taking all three matches but settling for two and taking the point for an early 1-0 lead. The winning pairs were those of
Kylee Fliter and
Annika Hansen as well as
Jenny Rollins and
Ashlyn Edwards, taking their matches 6-4 and 6-2 respectively.
Nicole Flock and
Anna Fletcher would come close to sealing the doubles sweep for CU ultimately end up falling 5-7.
SINGLES
Cap kept it rolling with four wins in singles to secure the 5-2 victory. Flock won her match 6-2, 6-3 followed by Hansen with a close win at 7-6, 7-5. Both Rollins and Edwards would need three sets to settle their victories 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 and 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 respectively. On the wrong side of the results were Fletcher at 0-6, 0-6 and Fliter at 4-6, 6-4, 3-6.
