ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Capital University men's soccer team was back in action on Saturday, Nov. 1 for their final regular season game of the season. Facing off against Mount Union, Capital would fall by a score of 4-1. With the loss, the Comets finish the regular season with a record of 4-10-2 overall and 3-4-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play. Meanwhile, the Purple Raiders finish at 12-2-4 overall and 5-1-2 in conference play.
The story in this one would be scoring attempts, as Mount Union would outshoot Capital 16-6 and would have 13 shots on goal compared to Capital's four. After 29 minutes of scoreless play, the Purple Raiders would finally crack the scoring column with a penalty kick goal.
Mount Union would keep up the pressure, adding three more goals in the 44th, 47th, and 58th minutes to give them a 4-0 lead.
Scoring the lone goal for the Comets in this one was
Payton Krzeminski. This was the freshman's first goal of his career.
Leading the team in shot attempts would be
Christian Monzalvo, who ends the regular season tied with teammate
Derrick Harris for most goals this season with seven.
Getting the start in goal for Capital was
Noah Thomas, who finished with seven saves in 50 minutes of action. Making the first appearance in his collegiate career was freshman
Zach Stevens, finishing with two saves in the last 40 minutes of play.

The Comets will be back in action on Tuesday Nov. 4 for the first round of the OAC tournament. Sixth seeded Capital will travel to third seeded Wilmington to take on the Quakers. The game is set to kick-off at 7 pm.
