WESTERVILLE, Ohio – On Monday afternoon, Capital University senior kicker
Ty Boughman was announced as the Ohio Athletic Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week.
This is Boughman's first career weekly honor and marks the sixth weekly honor for the athletics department in the 2025-26 calendar year.
Boughman's award comes on the heels of his quality outing in Capital's most recent outing at Heidelberg. In the game, Boughman went two for two on field goals, three for three on PATs, and was productive in both punting and kickoffs.
Boughman's two field goals marked the first two of his career and were successful from 32 yards and 21 yards. His three PAT makes bring his season total to a perfect 11-for-11 in PAT tries.
Elsewhere, Boughman added six punts for an average of 36.2 yards per punt which included a long of 50 yards. In kickoff, Boughman sent four kicks for an average of 57.5 yards per kickoff.
The Comets football team will be back in action on Saturday, October 11th for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff at Manchester University.
