Men's Soccer Earns Tie Against Nationally Ranked Ohio Northern

ADA, Ohio - Men's soccer was back in action on Saturday, Oct. 18 for a Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) match-up.  Facing off with Ohio Northern, who came into this one ranked 22nd in the nation, Capital would earn a hard fought 2-2 tie.  With today's results, the Comets record now sits at 3-7-2 overall and 2-1-1 in OAC play.  Meanwhile, the Polar Bears now stand at 9-0-5 overall and 4-0-1 in conference play.  
 
The scoring would get started early in this one, as Derrick Harris would give Capital a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 10th minute.  
 
The lead would stand until the 34th minute, as Ohio Northern would answer back with a goal of their own.  The game would remain tied heading into halftime.
 
In the 74th minute, it would once again be Derrick Harris for Capital finding the back of the net.  The senior has exploded as of late, recording back to back two goal games to get his season goal total to four.
 
The Polar Bears once again would fight back, scoring just four minutes later to bring the score to its eventual final of 2-2.
 
Capital made the most of their opportunities, as they earned the tie despite being out-shot 24-9.
 
Powering the offense for the Comets was Wassim Metatla and Cade Wurstner, who both recorded assists in the game.
 
Stellar in net was senior goalkeeper Ethan Ogden, who finished with a career high nine saves.  The Dublin, Ohio native now has 139 saves in his career.
 
UP NEXT
The Comets will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 22 when they will once again be on the road to take on Wilmington.  Kick-off is scheduled for 7 pm.
