ADA, Ohio – The Capital University football team traveled to Ohio Northern University on Saturday where they faced arguably their toughest opponent of the season, dropping the game 56-0.
Capital is now 2-4 overall this season, while ONU is 5-1 on the year.
The Comet offense garnered 158 yards passing with 122 yards coming from
Tyler Love on 11 completions and 36 yards from
Donovan Duncan on five completions.
Nate Younker had three catches for 57 yards, supported by three catches for 32 yards from
Shawn Billups.
Sonny Ward also recorded three catches totaling nine yards.
LJ Haynes,
Preston Hannika and
Jamey Bollo each had two catches, while
Finn Devine had one catch.
Mar Harris was the leading rusher for Capital, carrying the ball five times for 34 yards.
Brandon Hambric Jr. carried the ball nine times for 30 yards.
Zion Solomon added 16 yards on six runs.
Cobi Stevens and
Hagan Lineberger combined for 14 yards on five runs, while
Tyler Love rushed five times as well.
On defense,
Bryson Roberts and
Diamonte Salley each had seven tackles, while
AJ Conti added six stops.
Cyrus Burden finished with five stops.
Burden along with
Declan McAdams combined for the only sack of the game for Capital.
Ty Boughman punted the ball five times for an average of 39.6 yards per punt with a long of 51 yards. He added one kickoff for 61 yards.
