Women’s Basketball Comes Up Just Short at No. 15/20 Baldwin Wallace

BEREA, Ohio – The Capital University women's basketball team (9-2, 3-1 OAC) opened up their 2025 slate against No. 15/20 Baldwin Wallace (10-1, 4-0 OAC) on Saturday. The Comets played a highly competitive game against the reigning OAC Regular Season Champions but would ultimately come up just short, with a game-tying three-point effort from Bri O'Connor falling offline, ending in a 64-67 loss for CU.

The game was close throughout, starting with the teams separated by only two points after the first quarter, 17-19 in favor of the hosts. The Purple and White would battle back in the second quarter, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 15-12 to take a 32-31 lead into the halftime break. The third quarter was more of the same as BW would pull back even with a 17-18 quarter for CU, making it all square at 49-49 heading to the fourth. The teams again went shot-for-shot in the final 10 minutes, ending with a last-second three-point attempt falling offline for the Comets, leaving Capital three behind at the final buzzer, 65-68.
