CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Capital University men's soccer team (1-4-3) traveled across state lines on Saturday to take on DePauw (4-2-1). The Comets were able to stay in it thanks to a 73rd minute goal by
Nico Voight, but would ultimately drop the game after conceding in the final seven minutes, 2-1.
DePauw got on top early with a goal in the fifth minute. After that, it was 67 minutes of scoreless play before CU equalized in the 73rd thanks to Voight. Unfortunately, the Purple and White would not be able to pull out a win or even a draw, dropping behind again in the 84th minute, where they would stay until the final whistle, 2-1.
THE NUMBERS
The Comets managed just four shots (all on goal) against the Tigers' 16 (eight on target).
Nico Voight scored his second goal of the season, unassisted.
Ethan Ogden (1-3-2) made a season-high six saves during his 90 minutes in the net.
