Women’s Lacrosse Loses Battle at BW

BEREA, Ohio – The Capital University women's lacrosse team (8-4, 2-1 OAC) traveled to Baldwin Wallace (8-5, 3-1 OAC) on Saturday night, partaking in a primetime battle that would end in heartbreak for the Comets as the Yellow Jackets scored a game-winning goal with just 22 seconds left, 15-14 being the final score.

It was a close one in the early going with BW taking a 6-5 lead before the first break. Grace Osborn scored three of the first five for CU as Ava Vendetti netted the other two. Baldwin Wallace would extend their lead by one goal in the second quarter, outscoring Capital 3-2 and leaving the scoreline at 9-7 heading into the half. The two scores for the Comets came via Andi Henry and Heather Stoner

Cap was quick to tie it up in the third quarter, tallying three goals and holding the Yellow Jackets to just one. Brenna Todd tossed her name onto the scoresheet in accompanied by Osborn and Henry to make it a 10-10 ballgame going into the final 15 minutes. The contest was as close as ever as the teams traded runs of three and totaled four goals apiece with just over four minutes to play. Osborn was responsible for three of Capital's four as the other came courtesy of Stoner. Unfortuntely for the Comets, the final four minutes included just one goal with the opposition scoring with 22 seconds left to take the game, 15-14.
