GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team (3-8) traveled to take on No. 26 Denison (15-8) on Sunday, ultimately ending up scoreless at 9-0.
The day got off to a slow start as the Comets suffered losses in all three doubles matches. The pair on
Anna Fletcher and
Nicole Flock were the closest to a victory, coming up just short at 8-6.
Annika Hansen and
Rachel Smith would fall 8-2 while
Amy Wright-Lovell and Jenny Rolls lost 8-0.
Things went similarly in the singles matches as CU came up short in all six. Wright-Lovell nearly managed a set win but was ultimately ousted 6-4, 6-2. Fletcher and Flock were next both managing to win three games, Flock falling 6-2, 6-1 and Fletcher falling 6-1, 6-2. Smith and Hansen both suffered 6-2, 6-0 losses. Rollins was on the losing end of a 6-0, 6-0 result.
