HOW IT HAPPENED

Heather Stoner scored the fifth for CU, tying the game at 5-5 just before the first intermission.

Osborn would add six goals in the second quarter as the Purple and White pulled ahead 14-9 at the half. Cap would pour in nine goals in the period in contrast to W&J's four, being bolstered by a 7-2 scoring run that featured five straight for the Comets. Stoner, Henry, and Ava Vendetti accounted for the other three goals.

Washington & Jefferson made things slightly closer in the third quarter, getting their deficit down to two but ultimately only outscoring Capital 6-5. Osborn scored three of the Comets' five in the quarter, assisting on the other two to Henry as CU still held a 19-15 lead heading into the final 15 minutes.

The Purple and White would finish strong with a 4-2 fourth quarter. Osborn scored two more times to break her own single-game points record with 18 on the afternoon, and tie her own single-game goals record with 13. Henry and Vendetti were also in on the fourth quarter scoring, leading to a 23-17 victory.
