Women's Basketball Does Enough to Secure Another Win

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's basketball team did enough to walk away with a 66-53 win over visiting Heidelberg University on Wednesday night.

The Comets now sit with a 16-6 record, including an 11-4 mark within the OAC. Heidelberg falls to 4-18 on the year and 1-14 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Comets made up the difference in the game in the second half as they held just a slim 35-34 lead at the halftime interval. In the third quarter, Capital added to their lead after a quick 3-pointer from Laney Murphy. Then by the end of the quarter, a pair of layups from Bri O'Connor allowed Cap to hold a seven point edge heading to the final period of play.

In the fourth, Capital held Heidelberg at bay, eventually working around the defense to put up an additional 19 points in the game. A traditional three point play from Tahirah Ellis with 1:02 remaining gave Cap their largest lead at 66-49, enough to hang on for the comfortable margin at the final horn.
