Track and Field Concludes Competition at OAC Championships

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Capital University track and field teams competed strongly at the OAC Indoor Championships this weekend with the men's team finishing seventh overall and the women's side placing ninth as a team. Mount Union won both the men's and women's titles.

The highlight of the weekend for Capital proved to be Zion Park's title and school record in the men's pole vault. Park's vault of 4.71 meters edged out the previous 16-year-old record of 4.70 meters set by Doug Gibbons in 2008. The OAC crown for Park is the second of his career as he also won the outdoor pole vault and last year's championships.

In addition to Park's first place finish, the Comets landed nine program top-10 marks in the weekend's competition.
